Mid-Monday in the last week of school, Year 13 leavers Riley Piebenga, Mia Stout, Rosie Davison, Brooke Kendall, and Helen Li made their way back to the Columba College campus. Armed with tools, fixings and a full piece of pressure-treated plywood, they had one mission: to install a blackboard on the outside of the school gym.

The blackboard is part of the 2022 Year 13 leaver’s gift to the school. The board is intended to be used for student notices and messages.

Installation went smoothly and only required moderate assistance from the tradesmen working on the adjacent boarding house construction site. The board will require two more coats of paint, but should be up and running before the end of term.
