"Art for Earth's Sake" Art Competition

Ms J Lach —

Enviroclub is working on plans to ensure that students understand recycling.

Last year, Enviroclub was given a grant to purchase several sturdy recycling bins to encourage more students to recycle their items during lunch time and interval. The real effort, however, starts this year, in trying to educate the school on the fine art of proper recycling.

Speaking of art - the Enviroclub is asking for submissions for our art competition initiative. We are asking students to create a visually appealing poster that depicts proper recycling techniques. Ideas can include:

  • Rinse your recycling
  • Don’t squash items
  • Remove plastic wrappers
  • No soft plastic
  • No lids or caps
  • Number 1, 2 and 5 plastic only

Please submit your work to Ms Lach either digitally jessicalach@columbacollege.school.nz

or physically in FRC2. Deadline for entries is May 14th.

In the meantime, be sure to use our outdoor and indoor recycling bins. Look for the yellow lids/stickers (see images below).
