Year 8s battled it out for the title of Queen Bee.

The hall was buzzing with excitement at the Year 8 Spelling Bee on Thursday. Our fourteen contestants were not perturbed by the long list of challenging words. Their studious efforts over the past months had paid off, and numerous contestants made it through several rounds. But the real battle came at the end. Our place getters Aisling, Srishti  and Emily continued through dozens of words, rolling them out letter by letter to claim the title as top spellers. Congratulations to Aisling who took out first place, with Srishti coming in at a close second. 

Well done to Emily, Isabelle, Rhianna, Allena, Elodie, Srishti, Bella, Emma, Charlotte, Daisy, Kate, Anna, Charlotte and Aisling for your efforts. We look forward to having you and other keen Year 9 spellers join in the regional National Spelling Bee competitions next year.
