English Language (EL) for English Language Learners (ELLs) and Speakers of English as a Second Language (ESOL)
This multi-level course and multi-level class (years 11-13) is designed to assist ELLs and ESOL students in the four skills of the English language: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The course will be classroom based with any learning outside the classroom in the form of field trips that link to learning outcomes. For example, writing a formal letter/email of complaint may involve a practical visit to an outside provider or organisation. A job application or resume would involve a one-to-one session with the Careers Advisor or a visit to an organisation the student wishes to apply to. The EL Course will be taught by a qualified ESOL specialist teacher.
