The Year 0-1 Paddington Bear Trip at Finestere, Mosgiel

Miss Eason —

Wow! What a magical day Thursday 21st November was for the Year 0-1 class. The children set off from Columba with their teddy bears for a day of surprises, adventure and endless fun.

We were greeted from the bus by Paddington Bear offering everyone a red hat (just like his) and of course marmalade sandwiches. After the most delicious bear themed morning tea, the class had bundles of fun and laughter rotating around stations including Granny’s bloomers obstacle course, sack races, tug of war, bulls eye, croquet, go fish, pin the tail on Eeyore, egg and spoon races, trailer rides and of course famous bear stories from Mrs Theis.

More bear food was next on the agenda, followed by a treasure hunt through an enchanted garden collecting presents for everyone! Each child was presented with their own special rosette, a hand painted Christmas bag and many more goodies to take home. At the end of the day, we had two star shaped piñatas filled with even more treats.

A special thank you to Justine and Jeremy Byfield, their son Guy, and of course Granny for sharing their beautiful property with us. The garden was spectacular and everywhere we went, there were little wonders to be found. Thanks also to Mrs Theis (Paddington Bear.) Last of all I would like to thank Chloe Hawken and Melissa Houghton for leading the most amazing group of Year 0-1 parents and making this day a fairytale to remember.
