French Film Festival 2022

Miss C Gardiner —

Rialto Cinema Dunedin is hosting the French Film Festival, from 16th June - 3rd July. The lineup this year is looking great and the films are an excellent opportunity to explore the French language and culture.

This year, students in Year 10-13 French class all voted to see French director Nicolas Pleskof's Murder Party, a Cluedo-game-meets-Agathe-Christie-novel-inspired comedy murder mystery, made in an offbeat Wes Anderson style.

Murder Party was by far the most interesting film in the students' eyes and they were not disappointed. Ruses, plot twists and surprises abounded in this 'very French' mystère.

The students enjoyed popcorn, a soft drink and the cinema almost to themselves.

There are other film screenings that students can attend with me outside of class time as an independent activity. Friends and family are also welcome:

Petit Nicolas Saturday 18th June @ 1.15pm PG

A Mermaid in Paris Wednesday 29 June 7.45pm M

Madeline Collins Saturday 2nd July 1.45pm M
