Great results at the Land of Granite Teen Writing Competition

Ms Togneri —

The competition, run jointly by the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, the Library and the City of Literature, required participants to write a piece in response to one of Colin McCahon's art works.

Congratulations to our student finalists Angela Fu (Year 12) who placed 4th, Sophie Woodham (Year 13) who placed 3rd and Caitlin O'Brien (Year 12) who placed 2nd. The girls were awarded beautiful books as prizes.

All three students read their poems at the prize giving attended by Jilly O'Brien who said they were "fantastic" and "well prepared" and also Fiona Woodham who provided the photograph of the girls.

These works contain valuable insights into society and are well worth a read.
