Awe-inspiring orators take to the stage
Resounding voices echoed through the halls of Girton last week as our leading speakers in years 9-12 participated in their year levelled speech competitions.
From pondering the effects of technology on society, discussing the effects of materialism and musing on the impacts of gender inequalities, to considering the power of kindness and our need embrace what makes us happy - there was a thoughtful argument for everyone in the audience. Students wielded their words with impact, delivering carefully crafted arguments in their polished performances, engaging us with their oratory skills on show. Well done to all the speakers who presented, and a particular congratulations to our place-getters.
