Year 5 & 6 trip to the Portobello Marine Centre

Mrs J Crump —

On Thursday, 2nd March the Year 5 and 6 classes travelled down to the Portobello Marine Centre to take part in a programme about cephalopods, with a particular focus on the octopus and squid.

The students enjoyed a variety of activities, including exploring the touch tanks, dissecting a squid, classifying sea creatures and learning about their behaviour. It was a wonderful learning experience for the pupils and the weather was perfect.

At the end of the trip we were able to have a picnic lunch and a short play at the Portobello playground before heading back to school.

Thank you to the parents who joined us at the Marine Centre to assist in the supervision of the children.
