Netball South ran an Otago Primary Schools Netball Festival this week and three Columba netball teams entered the fun day of competition. Aimed at growing the game in a positive and fun way, the Netball Festival was a great success for our Columba teams.

What a fabulous initiative to end the shortened season with a festival of netball for Primary School netball teams in Years 5 - 8. Aiming to create a community that is growing, prospering, and loving the game, the netball festival provided a fun and safe environment for children to experience netball in a tournament setting. 

On Tuesday 22nd September, Columba 8A and 8B attended the festival at the Edgar Centre. Playing games every hour, both teams experienced the excitement and fun of tournament netball, playing school teams from across Dunedin. Led by their fabulous student coaches, some great netball was played, and a lot of fun was had! Well done to both teams.

On Wednesday 23 September, it was the Columba Year 5/6 Navy netball team's turn to experience the festival.....and what a great day it was! Winning the prize for the "Best Dressed" was a tribute to the way this talented young team radiated unity, ability, and sportsmanship both on and off the court. Coming off the back of winning their regular season competition and being unbeaten across both rounds, this team showcased their skills with pride and passion during the tournament. The young players were extremely impressive to watch, and we look forward to seeing this super talented team progress over the years ahead.

Season statistics of zero losses, 173 points for and 21 points against, the future certainly looks bright for the Navy Netball Stars! We are immensely proud of their efforts. Well done girls!
