Mask update

Mrs P Duthie —

At school, we closely monitor our absences, especially with regard to patterns of attendance in relation to Covid.  We are now in single figures for staff and students (combined) who are either isolating because they have Covid or are a household contact.

The Board decision to strongly recommend the continued wearing of masks when inside for Year 4 + students still applies.

We ask that every Year 4 + student continue to bring a mask to school every day. There may be times that they will be required to wear them. Some staff may ask students to wear a mask and we ask that everyone respects their wishes.

Masks will be compulsory for gatherings of 100 or more people.

Parents are also encouraged to wear a mask when coming onto the school grounds, but all other visitors will be required to wear a mask.

We will continue to keep other health measures in place at school that we know slow the spread of COVID-19. These include ensuring our indoor spaces are well-ventilated, maintaining good hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette, appropriate physical distancing whenever we can and, most importantly, staying home if we are sick. Should our monitoring indicate another change in our Covid patterning, we reserve the right to enforce mask-wearing once more.

Ngā mihi
