Columba College Parents' Association Thank You

Parents' Association —

The Columba College Parents’ Association sincerely thanks the parents, students, school boards, Old Girls’, staff and friends of the college for their generous support throughout the year.

We are very proud to have been able to support the college in many ways that benefit the students directly and indirectly.

Throughout 2018 we have funded the year 7 and year 9 'Meet the Teacher' events, supported the reinstated Library Week with sessions held by guest authors and a Scholastic Book Week, and contributed to the Bullying Prevention sessions taken by Robert Pereira.

We have approved funding for the purchase of numerous items including:

  • Blinds, new computers and a smart TV for the library (approx $10 000)
  • A replacement defibrillator
  • A weighted piano keyboard
  • Makeup and brushes for the school production
  • Easter banners for RE
  • Analytical scales for chemistry and science
  • Replacement projectors
  • iPads for the Junior School
  • Replacement projectors
  • Programmable robots and beebots
  • Prizes for literacy competitions
  • Scholarship badges
  • Replacement landing mats
  • Blinds, laminator and lamps for the International Department

We have also continued to fund the Artist in Residence programme and provided ice blocks as an end of year treat for all students.

Members of the Parents’ Association have continued to run the Second-Hand Uniform shop and we thank those that have supported us by providing their unneeded items and those that have purchased items from us.

2019 looks set to be another busy year and a wee reminder to please put the school fair date on your calendar Saturday 30 March. We will need plenty of helpers for this event!

We warmly welcome new members. Please email Liana Johnston parentsassociation@columbacollege.school.nz for further information.

The Parents’ Association would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters once again and to wish you all a very happy and safe holiday period.
