2020 Covid Competition for History Lovers

Mrs Riepl —

For Years 7-13.

Hello, students! Are you stressed? I hear some of you are 'BORED'. Is your brother or sister annoying you? Have you been asked to take the dog around the block #again? Are you missing town? Is it just not the same seeing your friends on a screen ALL the time? Are you still waiting on that item of clothing you bought online well before lockdown? Do you know what day it is? What month it is? Do you find yourself talking about Covid as if Covid is a real person? Well, here is something to kick those negative vibes out of the park!

The New Zealand History Teachers Association is running a nationwide Covid 2020 Competition. The main aim is to bring a bit of creativity and fun into your bubbles. We also want to create a strong, interesting and wide-ranging historical record for future generations to learn about how teenagers lived through the current pandemic.

Just like in 2019, we at Columba College are going to run the competition on a school level first for school prizes! What you create will go straight into the school archives as our own community Covid 2020 record and will be celebrated in the newsletter. There will be an excellent panel of teacher judges for each section and great prizes courtesy of the History Department.

The school deadline for entries is May 15th

Named entries to: kriepl@columbacollege.school.nz
