Traffic Management around the College and on Oban Street
As we begin the school year, it is a timely reminder for safe driving practices around the College.
We are experiencing traffic congestion around the College, hence the need to ask caregivers to take care and be considerate of pedestrians and other vehicles during drop-off and pick-up times.
Please remember that parking on Highgate and Oban Street, outside the college, has a limit of five minutes during 8am-9am and again 3pm-4pm and is to be used for drop-off/pick-up only. You will be asked to move on if you stay longer than five minutes.
We would remind parents/caregivers to take special care and adhere to the following requests:
Please do not drop off students in the middle of Oban Street. There is no parking or stopping on the Marsh Sports Centre side of Oban Street - please do not stop here - this is very dangerous.
Please do not try to U-turn on Oban Street or use the office/admin entry to complete a three-point turn. This creates congestion.
Please only turn left onto Highgate from Oban Street, rather than trying to turn right and thereby banking traffic behind you.
If you are parking along Highgate to wait to collect a student(s), please use the parks either side of the crossing as a 'taxi stand' and move forward slowly when the space in front comes free.
Council traffic management has informed us we can use the bus stops on Highgate for drop off only when not in use by buses. We stress this is for drop-off only and they cannot be used as a waiting pick-up zone.
We want to keep our students safe and we need our College community to help us.
