We stood and looked up, and up, and up, to the top of New Zealand’s tallest tree.

Birds! Birds! Birds!

Mrs M Small —

Year 4 spent a wonderful day exploring and learning new things about our native birds at Orokonui Ecosanctuary.

Last Friday, the Year 4 Class spent the day exploring Orokonui with Tahu, Steve and 12 parent and grandparent helpers.

We spent time in the Orokonui Classroom and out exploring the environment within the Ecosanctuary before hiking down through the Valley Track. We had many highlights on this trip which included seeing Takahē, Kaka, South Island Robin, Kerēru, Tui, Piwakawaka, Skink and Tuatara. It was a wonderful day in a very special place with very special people.

Thank you to all of our fabulous helpers.
