Fashion parade in French class with Madame Navarro

Miss C Gardiner —

Student teacher, Mrs Hélène Navarro, has spiced up the French Year 10 program with high fashion.

The Year 10s have strayed from their usual studies to look into a passion of their trainee teacher: FASHION. Students have not only been learning to describe some out-there looks but also to share their opinions. Have a look at some of the interesting looks students came up with from the dress-up suitcase! Students worked in groups with one person playing the role of the model who was interviewed by another playing the role of a reporter after walking the catwalk. There was also a fashion narrator and an art director.  Between breaks, the audience were asked to share their brutal opinions on the style presented.

An exciting opportunity related to fashion was the French Festival film, 'Aline', that the Year 9s and 10s went to see on Monday 28th June. Loosely based in Celine Dion's life, the film was full of high fashion moments. The Year 9s and 10s were then able to use the language we have been learning to talk about Céline Dion's look over the years.
