The Otago Children's and Senior's Athletic Championships were held on the weekend and Columba athletes produced some amazing results.

Columba College athletes competed at the Otago Children's and Senior's Club Athletic Championships on Saturday, 15th and Sunday, 16th February.  They competed for a range of different clubs, including Taieri, Ariki and Hill City.

Results are as follows: 

Grade 9

Harlow La Hood: 1st 60m, 200m, 100m, Long Jump, 2nd 80m, 4th Discus

Isabella van Aart: 2nd 200m, 4th Long Jump, 5th 60m

Grade 10

Freya Ferro: 4th 200m, 5th High Jump

Rahwa Steel: 5th 100m, 200m, 800m

Ruby Nicholson: 5th Shot Put

Grade 11

Lila Rhodes: 1st 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5th High Jump

Delilah Rhodes: 2nd High Jump, 3rd Discus, 5th Long Jump

Grade 12

Madi Flutey: 1st 100m, 200m, 4th Long Jump

Charli Sinclair: 1st 400m, 800m, 1500m, 2nd Shot Put, 5th 80m Hurdles

Millie McKenzie: 1st Discus, Shot Put, 2nd 400m, 2nd 1500m

Imogen Harrison: 3rd 400m, 4th 200m, 80m Hurdles, 5th 100m

Ellery Taylor: 2nd 800m, 1200m Race Walk

Grade 13

Pip Eason: 1st Hurdles, 4th High Jump, 5th 200m, 100m, Long Jump

Anya Rhodes: 2nd 1500m, 3rd 800m

Alexa Duff: 1st Discus, 2nd Shot Put

Caitlin Butson: 2nd High Jump, 3rd Discus

Grade 14:

Faith Courtney: 1st 400m, 1st 800m

Under 18:

Amaya Leslie: 3rd Pole Vault

Open Women’s

Amaya Leslie: 1st Pole Vault

Also, at the competition those students who gained the most points in the 'mini multi' received their medals.  The mini multi event is run over two days and is run along the line of a heptathlon/decathlon style of event.  

Mini Multi results were as follows:

Grade 9: Harlow La Hood 3rd

Grade 10: Freya Ferro 3rd

Grade 12: Charli Sinclair 2nd

Grade 13: Caitlin Butson 2nd

This coming weekend, the athletes will learn if they have been selected into either the Grade 7-11 Otago team or the Grade 12/13 Otago Interprovincial team.
