Incredible throwing performance by Year 12 Columba College athlete secures gold at the prestigious New Zealand Track and Field Nationals, held in Wellington, March 2023.

Columba College is extremely proud of the progress of Year 12 student, Alex, who over the past few years has shown amazing development in the field of athletics throwing. Alex's dedication and commitment to training and hard work to improve her throwing technique and skill has been impressive, and we would like to celebrate the recent results she achieved at the NZ Track & Field Nationals: 

• U18 Javelin: GOLD (1st)
• U20 Javelin: SILVER (2nd)
• U18 Shot put: 6th place

Congratulations, Alex! What a wonderful way to highlight your rise in the world of throwing. Columba wishes Alex, and our group of 11 other Columba College athletes, all the very best for the upcoming SISS Athletics champs in Invercargill, to be held over the weekend of 31st March - 2nd April 2023.
