Columba College was represented by two strong and highly competitive tennis teams in this year's Otago Secondary Schools Tennis Champs (Wednesday 15th February, 2023).

Year 13 students, Erin and Lilly (Columba Navy), and Year 10 students, Alice and Alexi (Columba Green), competed in the Otago Tennis Champs at Logan Park yesterday. Starting off early with the sky looking bright, the clouds rolled in fast and play was shifted to the Edgar Centre to enable a full day of competition to proceed.

Both Columba teams were playing in the Girls A Grade Champs, and this year a number of strong female teams featured in this division.

Erin and Lilly had a great day on the courts and came away with a very well-deserved 2nd place in the A Grade division. Congratulations, team Navy! A special mention to Erin who did not drop a singles match all day!

Alice and Alexi had an equally good day on the tennis courts and partnered up well to finish 3rd equal in the A Grade champs. Well done! It was fantastic to watch their teamwork and skill execution during match play. Hopefully, next year, we can encourage more Columba teams to enter this great day of competition.
