Touch

Miss M Sycamore —

Coming off an incredibly successful 2018, Touch at Columba College is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports at the school.

The Senior A team completed a stellar 2018 season, winning the 2018 New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships, the South Island Secondary Schools Championships and the Otago Secondary Schools Championships. The girls have continued this winning streak into 2019, convincingly winning the SISS and OSS championships in term one. This year we have had a large number of social touch teams that enjoy playing on Tuesday afternoons and our Junior A team won the Junior competition in both Term 4 last year and Term 1 this year. Proudly, our school boasts a number of representative honours at Columba with Meg Sycamore making her debut in the New Zealand Open Women’s touch team in April and gaining a NZ U20 trial, and Maia Joseph, Brylee More, Liv Preston and Olivia Fowler deservingly being awarded NZ U18 trials (held in July 2019).
