Olympic inspired Sculpture

Mrs M Small —

Like most people, the Year 4 Class loved watching all of the different sports during the Olympics.

We were inspired by our New Zealand athletes and athletes from all over the world. As a class we discussed the strengths and characteristics which successful athletes need to be competing at the highest level for their sports. We then made connections between Olympic athletes and people who are successful in areas outside of sport.

In Art this term, we are focusing on sculpture and we used the Olympics to inspire our tinfoil sculptures. There were over 40 sports being competed in at the Tokyo Olympics. Here is a small sample of our sculptures. Can you guess which Olympic sport each sculpture represents?
