Course and Careers Evening - Monday 6pm via Google Meets

Mrs L Piebenga —

We look forward to seeing many of our current Year 10, 11 & 12 students and parents at our Course and Careers virtual evening this coming Monday 20 September.

It is that time of year again when our students need to consider their option choices for next year!  Our 2022 Course and Careers handbook is here.  Due to Level 2 Covid restrictions, our Course and Careers evening will this year be delivered virtually via Google Meets.  Attached is a schedule showing the various Meet times for subjects across Levels 1, 2 & 3.  We hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Key Points:

  • Only have one device per household on the Meet otherwise you will create feedback.
  • The schedule attached has the link to the Meet at scheduled times. Simply click on the subject to enter.
  • Where possible, enter the Meet through a Columba Google account. The easiest way is to use your daughter's laptop as this will give you direct entry.
  • If you are coming in from an outside address (not a Columba account), you will need to be admitted to the Meet. There will be a staff member waiting in the Meet to do this.
  • You are welcome to keep your camera off if you would prefer.
  • Ensure that your microphone is turned off for the duration of the Meet.  If you have a question, please type this in the Q&A function on the Meet.
  • Each Meet is scheduled for 10 minutes.  The teacher will outline the Course for the first 5 minutes; the last 5 minutes will be spent addressing any questions you may have.  If you run out of time for your question, please feel free to email the teacher directly.
  • Meets will be recorded so should you miss one or have a clash with another course, this can be made available to you upon request.
  • Students will need to enter their option choices via the Kamar portal.  This will open on Tuesday 21 September, following the Course and Careers evening.  Options need to be submitted by Wednesday 29 September.
