Lord of the Flies Production

Ms J Armstrong, Ms I Bercinskas —

A fully packed audience in the Caroline Freeman Theatre was treated to an excellent rendition of the William Golding story, Lord of the Flies on Wednesday morning.

A group of talented and enthusiastic Year 10 students demonstrated that drama is alive and well at Columba as they each played multiple roles and undertook numerous costume changes during the production (their work also being assessed for Level 1 Drama AS 90009).

The use of lighting, simple props and set added to the atmosphere and transported the audience to an unknown island in the Pacific Ocean. The show was performed later in the day for parents, whanau and guests. Thanks to Victoria, one of our Old Girls and Mrs. Bercinskas who worked hard to support this very talented group of students.

The students who missed seeing Wednesday’s performance have been promised a special viewing, and no doubt the Caroline Freeman Theatre will be at maximum capacity again.
