Epic for New Zealand Schools

What is EPIC?
Electronic Purchasing In Collaboration is a consortium of New Zealand libraries managed through the National Library of New Zealand that have joined together to buy collective access to a wide range of e-resources to make available to New Zealanders through libraries and schools.

Through EPIC, The Ministry of Education has paid subscriptions which enable all New Zealand schools to access a range of quality, educational e-resources.

Who can access EPIC?

The terms and conditions of use for the Ministry of Education funded subscriptions through EPIC enable access to all staff and students of New Zealand schools for personal use or educational purposes in connection with the educational activities of the school.

How to access EPIC

Go to the EPIC resources for schools page at: natlib.govt.nz/epicschools or you can find EPIC on the school library webOPAC here.

Either, use the EPIC Discovery search box to search across a range of EPIC resources with one search or choose the EPIC resource you want to search from the filterable list, click on it and start searching.

Staff and students from schools that are networked through the Network For Learning (N4L) managed network (98% of NZ schools) will get direct access to the resources when using the links from within their school network.

When you use an EPIC resource link from outside of the school network, you will be prompted for your school’s unique EPIC school logins. These can be used by all staff and students from your school to access the EPIC resources from any web enabled device, anywhere.
