Kapa Haka

Ms Rose —

We have been fortunate this year to have Kapa Haka in both the junior and senior schools.

The Senior Kapa Haka has enjoyed two performance opportunities this year; one as part of the Cultural Assembly in June, and more recently we visited the Yvette Williams Retirement Village on Highgate to perform five of the waiata we have learnt. The residents and staff really enjoyed our visit, and the students, who did a wonderful job, came away smiling too. We are looking ahead now to singing a support waiata at the Mana Pounamu Young Achiever's event in November. Two Columba pupils, Ellen Foley and Lucy Cowie will receive awards at this event.
