Columba had two teams enter the 3x3 Basketball Tournament day at the Edgar Centre on Tuesday this week, with both teams showcasing their class and talent on the court. A very successful day for Columba College indeed!

With two strong Columba teams entering the Junior Sport Week Basketball day, expectations were high leading into the start of play. Always popular on the tournament week calendar, the 3x3 Basketball day draws many school teams from across the Otago region, and this year was no exception! The stadium was a buzz all day with high calibre competition, positive play, and impressive skill and talent on show.

The Columba 'Navy' and Columba 'Green' teams consisted of;

Navy: Millie MacKenzie, Ryan Dailey, Alex Duff, Lucy Morrison, and Brenna Lyons 

Green: Kayla Millar, Amelia Loudon, Milla Cashmore, Amelia Hollows, and Sophie Tizard.

Both teams played superbly well throughout the day, winning their matches comfortably. Following the round robin, Columba Navy and Columba Green went on to win their respective semi-final matches against OGHS and CML College, eventually facing off in the final for first and second place!

A friendly yet competitive final was played being two great teams of Columba mates. The Navy team ultimately coming out on top and being deserved winners of the 3x3 tournament day. 

Well done girls! You represented the school with pride and passion, and were a credit to yourselves. I was very proud to watch you perform and represent our school so well. Congratulations!
