Columba College Easter Outreach

Mrs E Harris —

Thank you to everyone in our community who donated chocolate and other treats!

Our Prefect team (lead by the Community Prefects, Aliyah and Nora) worked in collaboration with John McGlashan College to make up several Easter baskets and gift bags, which we delivered to residents at Red Roofs Life Care and Yvette Williams Retirement Village and key Columba supporters. The prefects also took a sizeable donation down to Presbyterian Support to support families in need who might not otherwise be able to indulge in the traditional sweet treats many children enjoy at this special time of year.

Red Roofs sent a message through to our prefects, reading: I would like to pass on our sincere thanks from our Residents and Staff at Redroofs for the lovely basket of goodies that were delivered to us for Easter.

These will be put to good use and form part of our Easter programme with ‘Egg and Spoon’ Walk, and a ‘Rope the Bunny’ using quoits. Our Residents will certainly get a lot of chocolate this Easter thanks to your thoughtfulness. It is very much appreciated.

Next term we plan to reinstate the hamper outreach for Presbyterian Support. We will do this on the three schools level with the Senior School students being contributions over the first week of Term 2, followed by the Middle School in week 2 and the Junior School in week 3, and continuing this pattern for the rest of the year.
