Shakespeare Rocks

Ms I Bercinskas —

Term 1 really is a celebration of the Bard's work.

Don't miss the amazing last days of Bill's Complete Works at Chingford Park in North East Valley, from the 16th-18th February as part of the Summer Shakespeare Festival. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 6pm, and Sunday at 4pm. Rain or shine! If raining, the show will move into the school hall at Dunedin North Intermediate. Former Columba alumna Sacha McConnon is the Stage Manager for the show and entry is FREE!

Secondly, the Uglies, aka Ugly Shakespeare is coming back with the M play (Macbeth) on Thursday, March 7th, Period 1 in Constance Hall. The performance is guaranteed to be a blast (Ugly Shakespeare has been performing at Columba for over 20 years). English students are currently studying Shakespeare at Year 11 for their Level 1 NCEA.

Finally, the University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Regional Festival is on April 4th at King's and Queen's Performing Arts Centre. We have four teams entered this year covering comedy and tragedy, and featuring students from Years 9-13. Thank you to our student directors: Pippa, Jessica & Sophie, Tessa, and Alice & Leila, as well as our Arts Prefect, Tylah, for all the mahi thus far.
