Kākahu Kāinga (non-uniform) day Years 1-13

Administration —

On Thursday 28 October, we will be having a kākahu kāinga (non-uniform day) to support Youth Grow (Presbyterian Support).

We recognise that, in the current climate, more young adults are finding it hard to ‘find their place’ in the adult world. Youth Grow supports young people in this position, providing practical support and work experience so young adults can be ‘life ready, work ready’ (https://psotago.org.nz/services/individuals/youthgrow/ ).

Instead of a gold coin donation, we are asking students to bring a small gift for someone in this programme. Suggestions include:

  • Personal hygiene items (deodorant, shampoo, other personal grooming items)
  • Items for going flatting (tea towel, basic kitchen implements; nothing sharp please)
  • Other personal items (work socks, towel, facecloth)

In association with Presbyterian Support, these items will be made into gift-packs for young adults in our community.
