New Sports Uniform

Miss Turnbull —

Columba College is delighted to advise our new sports uniform is here. Summer sports uniforms can be purchased at the College office.

Dear Parents,

The Uniform Committee has been working hard to recreate our look throughout the 30 different sports we offer here at Columba College. We wish to implement an affordable design, with less variation for all students to wear throughout the various extra-curricular activities. This project will benefit a large number of students throughout our school and have a very positive impact at unifying our sporting codes and strengthening our brand.

Currently there are many different contrasting styles of uniform from pinstripes, to tartan and various blue and green colour schemes, this needed to be addressed and we hope everyone will see the impact this has at creating consistency among all teams here at our College and displaying uniformity of appearance as well as maintaining a positive public image.

Where we can, we have created multi-purpose items to use for more than one sport which will ensure that once these uniforms are purchased they will not need to be bought again and will be used across multiple years for a number of different sporting codes. Uniforms could be sold to the second hand uniform store if desired, when finished with and it will be up to the individual to organise this.

The College has invested significantly in its sporting programme over the years and is proud of the outcomes, including an 88% participation rate compared to 67% regionally and the national average of just 55%. We currently have over 70 Otago Representatives, 55 Student Coaches, 16 student referees and 11 New Zealand Representatives. Top national competition, winning the Dunedin Schools competition across all 3 grades, and producing Otago/Southern and New Zealand representative players. These are very impressive results for a school our size, and will ensure we are building depth for future years to come.

Kind regards

Miss Dayna Turnbull
