Itinerant Music Teachers’ Concert

Mrs Cheyne —

Last Friday, the Intermediate students (and one Year 10 class) were entertained by the music teachers who come to Columba during the year to teach various orchestral instruments.

They introduced each instrument, showing its capabilities and sounds, and then demonstrated it with pieces of music the girls were often familiar with. It was an excellent display of musical talent and the girls learnt a little about the violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and saxophone. ‘Frozen 2’ and ‘The Lion King’ were popular examples of music the teachers featured, and there were even backdrops of musical cartoons and memes to entertain the girls as they listened.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and are now invited to put their names down to learn an instrument this year, if they wish. Mrs Casbolt, our new Music teacher, as well as the school Office, have further information on lessons.
