Enviroclub Prepares for Spring
Sewing seeds for prospective seedling success.
Members of Enviroclub have spring in mind as they think ahead to developing our new raised vegetable beds. Two of the beds were gifted to us as they had been planters in Dunedin’s CBD previously, and were delivered by Task Force Green. The aim of the garden is to provide a range of edible treats for all students to enjoy, as well as an opportunity for people to learn about where our food comes from and the work that goes into growing, maintaining and sustaining production of our food.
We planted a range of vegetable seeds including peas, broccoli, cabbage, borage, kale, thyme, parsley, beetroot and radish. The group hopes to germinate the seeds, look after the seedlings and then plant them in our beds once the spring season begins.
