Bake Sale on Wednesday March 31st

Miss Dana Wister —

Bring your gold coins and help us to support Gender Minorities Aotearoa.

The Columba College Rainbow Youth group's main goals have always been to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies, and to do our part in supporting the wider community. Now you can help too!

Next Wednesday, on 31st of March, the Rainbow Youth group will be hosting a bake sale fundraiser in honour of the Transgender Day of Visibility. We believe that it is important to give back to the community, and so we won't just be doing this fundraiser in name only - all of our gained funds will be donated to Gender Minorities Aotearoa, a NZ-based nationwide non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting our gender-diverse citizens.

We believe it is important that we support our gender-diverse people within NZ. Transgender and non-binary folks still face an incredible amount of discrimination in our country; even within the LGBTQ+ community they often are pushed to the back seat. We feel that ensuring gender-diverse Kiwis know that they are supported, respected and loved is a priority within our group, and so that's what we intend to do.

There will be dairy and gluten-free options provided for those with dietary restrictions - we want everyone to be able to partake!

If you want to support your gender-diverse family, or even just eat some good old fashioned home-baked goods, stop by Girton during the lunch period on 31 March!

Sincerely,

Your Rainbow Youth leaders
