Library News

Mrs L Wootton —

The Library Border is Open: Let Your Imagination Take Flight! 17th - 21st August.

Our library is being transformed into a departure lounge for Library Week this year. Get ready for a whole school (staff included) Dress-Up-As-A-Fictional-Character Day on Monday 17th August. Spot prizes will be awarded at Assembly for best dressed. A gold coin donation on the day will be greatly appreciated and will go towards the library purchasing new Barrington Stoke, super-readable, dyslexia friendly books to help every student unlock a love of reading.

There will also be plenty of in-flight entertainment throughout the week including bookish competitions, a bookmaking workshop, paper plane making, design a bookmark, Literary quiz, and a murder mystery to be solved.

We'll end the week by celebrating National Poetry Day. If you have a poem you would like to read, feel free to join staff and students at this open floor event in the library on Friday 21st August. Baskets of sweets will be passed around prior to landing.

Keep an eye out for your plane ticket flyers which also happen to make excellent bookmarks!
