Hip Hop Qualify for Nationals

Miss D Turnbull —

Columba College’s dance team MPIRE competed at NZCAF’s regionals this weekend.

It was hosted at Trinity College and the girls were in the secondary school category. This meant that they were competing against ten other schools around Southland ranging from year 9 to year 13. The calibre of dancing was very high in their category yet they were able to make the top 5! This is an astounding achievement for our girls Poppy (yr 7), Daisy and, Sophie (both yr 8), and the remaining year 9s; Ruby, Ryleigh, Maegan, Jet, Lola and, Jasmine.

These talented girls have qualified for Nationals and will be competing in September. Their coach Monet (Yr 12) and assistant coach Jeila (Yr 8) are so proud of the students' accomplishments and work ethic. Well done!

Charlotte and Maia (Year 5) also competed at the NZCAF’s regionals this weekend with their Black and White Dance Studio group Imperfectly Perfect. The girls were amazing, they came 2nd in their category which means they too have qualified for Nationals - a fantastic achievement. Good luck Charlotte and Maia!
