New Zealand Secondary School Symphony Orchestra

Mrs S Casbolt —

Congratulations to Skyla Murray who has been named as the Concertmaster of the NZSSSO for the 2020/21 Season. Skyla will be performing music by Khachaturian, Ritchie and Brahms at St Margaret's College in Christchurch on April 24th 2021.

The concertmaster is the leader of the first violin section in an orchestra and the instrument-playing leader of the orchestra. After the conductor, the concertmaster is the second-most significant leader in an orchestra. This is an amazing feat for Skyla as this position is usually held by a year 13 student.

Skyla is also looking forward to performing as a first violinist in the National Youth Orchestra (under 25 year olds) in Wellington on 17th December 2020.
