Science Fair

Mr B Duckett —

Over the second half of term two, the Year 8 students have been working on their Science Fair projects.

This entails deciding upon a research project, designing, and carrying out an experiment to test their hypothesis before presenting their information on a display board for judging.

19 students made it through to the Otago Science Teachers' Association Regional Science Fair held at the Hutton Theatre of the Otago Museum on Monday 13th August, competing against Year 8 students from all of the other Dunedin schools.

Columba managed to come away with some very pleasing results, so many thanks go to Ms Bishop and Ms Hillier for their efforts in class working to develop the student’s ideas and to the parents who helped with transporting the display boards down to the Hutton Theatre.
