SISS Clay Target Championships
The South Island Secondary Schools Clay Target Championships were held in Dunedin during the first weekend of the July school holidays, and Columba College had two students participating in this fantastic competition.
In their traditional Columba school kilts, befitting of this historic sporting competition, two Year 12 students from Columba College entered the SISS Clay Target Championships held in Waldronville on a bitterly cold Dunedin day!
Kate and Laura have been part of the school's clay target shooting team this year, both really enjoying the sport, and are progressing extremely well in this specialised field. Out at the Otago Pistol Club in Waldronville, Columba students have benefitted greatly from the expert coaching each week and experienced tutelage of Coach John Fookes. Both Kate and Laura represented Columba with impressive skill at the Championships, and we are extremely proud of their commitment and progress in this great sport.
A massive thanks to Coach John, and the fantastic group of parents, grandparents, and family supporters who braved the cold to come out in support our students. Steeped in history, this is a great competition and sport to be part of!
