Columba College Blood Drive

Miss N Paicu and Miss A Drake —

On Thursday the 8th of June a group of Columba students went down to the Dunedin Blood Service to donate blood.

The students really enjoyed the experience (especially the hot chocolate and biscuits after!) and it was a very successful day, with over 5.6L of blood being donated in total.

The Columba College Blood Drive had not gone ahead since 2019 due to the impact of Covid-19, so it was great to see so many people getting involved and donating to such an amazing cause. The donated blood will be distributed by NZ Blood and will be used in a multitude of treatments from cancer, to surgery, to traumatic accidents.

One donation can save up to three lives, so if you would like to donate, check your eligibility at https://www.nzblood.co.nz/become-a-donor/am-i-eligible/eligibility-quiz, and then get in contact with NZ Blood Dunedin.
