Course Content
Four achievement standards, plus a selection of relevant unit standards chosen from Agribusiness Training at Level 3, including both theory and practical components: Quad Bike, Motorcycle and Small engines courses (total of 15 level three credits for Agribusiness courses)
Conducting an investigation: an in-depth study in scientific investigation with particular attention to agriculture product attributes, especially apples
Product studies with particular focus on venison production, its marketing and attributes, and profitability as a primary product
Markets and market forces: an investigation into factors that affect the supply and demand of lamb and apples in New Zealand and abroad
Environmental issues in primary industry: a particular focus on effluent management on dairy farms, with specific reference to new and innovative waste management technologies (ie, K-line products)

Students need to have good time management skills. A contribution towards the cost of transport and field trips may be billed to students' accounts.

12 credits in Level 2 sciences or with approval.
