Dear Parents and Caregivers
On Sunday the 17th of September at Bishopscourt, we will be holding our sponsored event, the School Colour Fun Run starting at 11am!
Are you Fundraising?
The effort and enthusiasm from students this far has been fantastic – keep going! We are reminding families that there is still time to participate. The easiest way to do this is through online fundraising, where there is no limit to what can be achieved. (Parents with a number of children at Columba – one profile might be easier to deal with).
Go to schoolfunrun.co.nz, create a student profile page and share your online fundraising link via SMS, Email and Social Media.
If you are currently fundraising, THANK YOU! We hope you will continue to share your link and fundraise for the school.
Remember the more money raised the more playground equipment the School can purchase.
About the Day
The School Fun Run is all about FUN! Your children will get to come on the day and run/jump/slide with their fellow classmates, friends and students... sometimes even the teachers get involved! This will be one of the most exciting days on our school’s calendar, with everyone’s participation the aim, so please make sure they attend on the day and cheer the other kids on!
Prizes
In addition to supporting their school, students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! They can start ordering from the 22nd of September until the 20th of October – this will be done via your profile.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child wear to the event?
Whatever they want (black and white make the colour more visible). There will be prizes for best dressed.
What should my child bring to the event?
A few things you should pack are:
- A Change of Clothes
- A Towel
- Sunglasses (if preferred)
- A pair of shoes to run/walk/crawl the course
Does my child have to get wet?
No – this is entirely up to the child. The fire service will be there to wet the waterslide and the children if they want but if your child doesn’t want to get wet they definitely don’t need to.
Can I buy food and drink on the day of the run?
The Parents' Association will be selling sausages and bread, lollies, fizzy drink, water. Everything will be $2 each. We have an eftpos machine available for use as well as taking cash.
Do the children have to run?
No – this is a Columba community fun event – it is all about participation. Children can run/walk/crawl – it doesn’t matter how long it takes to go around the stations.
Do we have to stay for the whole time 11am till 1pm?
No – we will do a briefing before the run (outlining the course / safety measures) and then get the run started ASAP. Once your child is finished and all colourful then you are free to leave whenever suits.
Is there a toilet available for use?
Kaikorai Rugby Clubrooms will be open for our use.
