Year 12 Physical Education students have been working with Year 4, 5 and 6 classes over the past few weeks.

The Year 12 Physical Education class have been working on a leadership unit, using coaching to develop their leadership skills through the application of strategies. In pairs, the Year 12 students selected a sport to coach and developed a series of lessons. These were designed to both improve skills and the overall functioning of the group, focusing on group management and communication strategies.

Year 4, 5 and 6 students in small groups were assigned to Year 12 leaders, participating in six lessons overall. This is an absolute highlight of the year for all involved - a chance for some lovely interaction between the primary and senior schools.

The Year 12 Physical Education class would like to thank the Junior School staff and students for making this unit possible. We hope that the skills that Year 12 have developed can be applied to volunteer coaching in other areas in the future.
