On February 23, Columba College held our annual school sports day at the Dunedin Caledonian Grounds.

500 eager students from Year 7 to 13 took to the track competing in their houses and gaining points in the aim of winning the school Spirit Stick. The day began with a march past and chant off followed by a morning of both fun and competitive events and then onto finals in the afternoon. With the end of the day approaching we finished with everyone’s favourite and long awaited relay races. First up were house relays run in individual year levels, followed boarders vs day girls and eventually the highly anticipated staff vs prefects. With bragging rights at stake, it was certainly a race of two halves and the staff, ultimately proved too strong for the prefects. A great day was had by all and thank you to all those who came and supported. A special thanks to the Sports Council who provided lunch for staff and parents.
