Junior School Ski Weekend

Mrs R Crawford —

This past weekend marked the welcome return of the Junior School Ski Trip to full force. We had 27 families with 89 skiers/snowboarders attending this year with 8 families staying at the Vincent Ski Hut.

Happily for us, the good weather turned up as well with soggy snow clearing to a bright afternoon on Saturday. Many of the children had their first outing on skis or boards and the delight on their faces at learning something new was a joy to behold. It was also a pleasant opportunity to relax with other families in the Columba community. A stand out moment at the Hut was crowding round to watch the decisive All Blacks' win!

Sunday was brighter and colder. The slopes were busier with sun-seeking skiers and snowboarders prepared to brave the windy conditions. Another morning of lessons was on offer with children (and adults) making impressive progress in a short time.

A heartfelt thanks to our organisers, Sally Choie, Chloe Hawken, Wallis Xie, and Chelsea White, and to all the families who contributed to making this wonderful weekend such a success!
