Hills Cluster Cross Country

Miss P Hopcroft —

On Wednesday 11th August, the annual Hills Cluster Cross Country Champs was held at Bishopscourt. Columba College was extremely proud to have 33 athletes from Years 4 - 6 who had qualified for this event. Strong determination and competitive spirit resulted in some very impressive results from our young runners.

A warm and bright afternoon on Wednesday was matched with shining enthusiasm and competitive spirit from our Junior School runners. We were extremely proud of the effort and determination shown by the Columba team and congratulate all students for a wonderful display of positive attitude and competitive drive. A highlight from the day was seeing the Columba students cheer on their peers, pushing one another to do their best.

The Hills Cluster is a big event on the Primary School's sport calendar which saw Columba runners compete against other classy athletes from Arthur Street School, Halfway Bush, Kaikorai Primary, Maori Hill School, and Wakari Primary. Strong competition across the board saw some exciting and hotly contested races. While each and every student ran their race with huge heart and determination, we congratulate the following students who placed in the top 10 for their age group and have therefore qualified to attend the Otago Cross Country Champs, scheduled for Friday 10 September 2021.

We wish you all the best and know you will represent Columba College with pride!
