Building on Scholarship Success

MRS RIEPL —

Congratulations to our 2018 Scholars!

We are very proud of those that achieved NCEA Scholarship success in 2018. Congratulations go to the following year 13 students:

Molly Crighton (Outstanding in English)

Erin Dailey (Biology, English, History)

Ghazal Dousti (Technology)

Holly Haig (Biology)

Chenoa Metua (Health & Physical Education)

Sasha Meyer (English)

Bridget Scott (History)

Anna Snow (History)

Kate Truman (Calculus, Physics, Statistics, Technology)

Special mention also to the two year 12 students who were awarded scholarships, which is a fantastic achievement:

Michaela Sutherland (History)

Victoria Williamson (English)

We want to encourage senior students to give scholarship a go in subjects that they excel in and enjoy. It is not just about achieving (which is great financially and for future academic success), but about the journey of learning that comes with it. Scholarship is excellent preparation for university.

Mrs Graves and I will be running scholarship breakfasts starting later in Term 1 for those who may be interested. We will explain how scholarship works and help students with strategies, regional tutorial sign-ups and how they can seek individual support within subjects at school. Previous students successful in scholarship are invited back to talk to students about specific subjects, experiences and how they would approach it in terms of preparation and revision. The Spelt breakfasts are usually a hit too.
