Columba College was awarded '2019 Confucius Classroom of the Year' and 'The Best School' of 'The 10th NZ Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2019'. Ms Ding and Miss Jin were awarded 'The Best Coach'.

Liam Mao (Year 1), Archer Jones and Leo Mundy (Year 2), William Henderson and Ruby Tilyard (Year 3), Sophie Butson (Year 4), Leo Woodham (Year 5), Lula Joseph (Year 6), Kaja Maciaczyk and Charli Sinclair (Year 7), Isabella Cameron and Kayla Smith (Year 8), Anise Maclean (Year 9), Alisha Horne, Renee Mosley, Vivienne Lau (Year 10) and Emily Prout (Year 11) were all awarded 'Outstanding Achievement in Chinese' awards.

This year, there were a number of students from junior and secondary school who won national prizes in the “10th NZ Chinese Calligraphy Competition” in the hard pen and soft brush divisions. Hebe Song (Year 6 ) won 1st place in Hard Pen Calligraphy Native Primary Category. Mabel Lee (Year 9 )won 1st place in Brush Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Intermediate Category.

Ashley Miller and Koh Miyamichi (Year 9 ) won 2nd place in Brush Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Intermediate Category, Kana Aoshima and Suhjung Yang (Year 13) won 2nd place in Hard Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Secondary Category.

Evelyn Cosgrove (Year 4 ) won 3rd place in Hard Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Primary Category. Luna Koyama and Wakane Ogawa (Year 10) won 3rd place in Hard Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Intermediate Category. Joelle Gatenby and Seohyun Han (Year 13) won 3rd place in Hard Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Secondary Category. Yuqi Wang and Echo Li (Year 13) won 3rd prize in Hard Pen Calligraphy Native Secondary Category.

Yunhwa Lee (Year 9) and Maya Bromby (Year 10) won 3rd place in Brush Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Intermediate Category. Alexandra Crawford (Year 11) and Seohyun Han (Year 13) won 3rd place in Brush Pen Calligraphy Non-Native Secondary Category. Ruth Huang (Year 12) won 3rd prize in Brush Pen Calligraphy Native Secondary Category.

Harlow La Hood (Year 5), Scarlett Wilson (Year 6), Renee Mosley and Maggie Huang (Year 10), and Samantha Wan (Year 13) have been awarded Merit prize in the 10th NZ Chinese Calligraphy Competition.
