Chai Initiative 2023
Luv Immigration and Edgar Centre has organised something SPECIAL for you, your family and your work place this winter. We bring you Chai Initiative 2023 National Connect 4 Tournament to Edgar Center, Dunedin. Please see the attached Flyer including all the details and prizes 😊.
The purpose of this fun family event is to raise awareness and fundraise for people with mental depression in New Zealand. People (young kids and adults) know they always have the support they need to become happy and healthy again. You can support by purchasing your ticket ($15) or make a donation Online or at the Reception (please see the bank details below). All profit collected goes to support people with mental health issues. You can also track where your donation goes by visiting Chai Initiative.
Why Connect 4? The game is being used because it's simple and easy to understand and fun to play with when you grasp the concept, but complex enough to keep everyone entertained. You're guaranteed to have a bit of fun whether you win or not. Most importantly, Connect 4 instantly connects people together by bridging their differences.
What is the Chai Initiative? In honor of Kay's late father who suffered from depression, Luv Immigration established the Chai Initiative Project on the 25th December 2022 which is a non-profit initiative to help people in similar circumstances so individuals and families can have the support they need to improve their lives or save a life.
You're invited to come and join this amazing event and make history together. We need 400 players, so please come and support us. You can create your own team, or form a team with other people. Eg. Work Team, Family Team, Siblings Team, Cousins Team, Grandparent Team, School Team, Sports Club Team, Social Team, Your Own Team, Company Team, and Represent Yourself Team This event is guaranteed to be a fun day, weather proven because it's an indoor event.
If you have a Connect 4 game, you're welcome to bring it along on the day.
On the 24 November 2021, Luv Immigration and Queenstown Shotover Primary School players exceeded the Guinness World Record by having the most players simultaneously playing Connect 4 and the Largest Connect 4 group.
The current record was 314 and we beat that by having an unofficial record of 316 players. In 2023 we are aiming for at least 400 players. Come and be part of making history.
If you would like to help on the day, please contact Jo-Anne or Zee (their contact details below). We're going to divide players up into different groups (approximately 64 players per group).
Goodluck to all the players! And have an Awesome Day to everyone! On behalf of Luv Immigration and Edgar Centre Team, we're looking forward to seeing you all on the BIG DAY. If you have any further questions about this event, you're welcome to contact Jo-Anne or Zee.
