Students Poppy Henderson and Emma Morton recently competed against the best in the business at the NZSS Swimming Champs and came away with some fantastic results

On Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th July, 723 of New Zealand's best Secondary School swimmers went head-to-head for the title of National champion. The event was run across six sessions, was livestreamed and can be watched on the Sky Sport Next YouTube channel.

Columba's Year 11 students, Emma Morton and Poppy Henderson, were competitive despite the stiff competition and came away with the following results:

• Emma Morton placed 7th in the 100m Breaststroke and 5th in the 200m Breaststroke!
• Poppy Henderson placed 9th in the 100m and 200m Butterfly!

This is an outstanding achievement and a great recognition of the many hours that have gone into their trainings.
