Years 5 and 6 Camp at Berwick Lodge
In Columba tradition, Years 5 and 6 headed off to Berwick Lodge for their much anticipated Camp.
This year we enlisted Tim Bartholomew from Dunedin Adventures to lead the students through a range of fun, challenging and rewarding experiences.
It was an activity-filled three days with all of the students having a seemingly endless supply of energy and enthusiasm. The children have come away with new skills and confidence and have happy memories of the experiences they participated in. Activities included the confidence course, team building activities, archery, rifle shooting, crazy swing, tree climbing, abseiling, flying fox, indoor climbing, radio orienteering, and stretcher carrying. We are sure it will be an event the students will continue to talk about in years to come.
Like any undertaking of this size, parental assistance is vital. Along with our 51 students, we were fortunate to have a wonderful group of parents armed with the knowledge and skills that contributed to the camp’s wonderful success.
